Sweet Sparkman Architecture & Interiors is proud to play a key role in the restoration of the historic Chidsey Building, as highlighted in a recent Your Observer article. The Chidsey Building, Sarasota’s first public library, is being revitalized as the new headquarters for The Bay, with completion expected by summer 2025 as part of the park’s $65 million Phase 2 expansion.

Our firm, alongside Jon F. Swift Construction, is restoring the Streamline Moderne building while preserving its historic character. Key renovations include restoring natural light, enhancing structural integrity with new flooring, and upgrading windows to meet hurricane standards, all while maintaining the building’s original Art Deco charm.

This project underscores our commitment to preserving Sarasota’s architectural heritage and fostering community growth through thoughtful design.
