The Captiva Island Fire Station is a vital emergency operations center designed to withstand hurricanes while blending seamlessly into the island's historic district. Completed in 2015, the two-story, 9,000-square-foot facility reflects the vernacular architectural style of neighboring buildings. It features three back-in apparatus bays, administration offices, and essential facilities, including a fitness room, day room, report writing room, and a kitchen with a dining area. Living quarters on the second floor accommodate six firefighters, ensuring comfort and functionality. Equipped with a generator for full facility power and robust stormwater management systems, the station exemplifies Captiva’s commitment to safety, resilience, and preservation.
