Sweet Sparkman conducted a Master Planning effort to address the immediate and future needs of the Courts.
The Charlotte County Justice Center, originally completed in 1999, comprises a five-story building interconnected with a three-story building totaling 197,131 square feet. This project involved renovating the existing building to address short-term space needs and adding new courtrooms, with expanded and reconfigured offices for the State Attorney, Public Defender, and Clerk of Court on the current footprint.
The project also required the creation of a new secure entry pavilion and integration of LEED concepts, where practicable. All work was accomplished while keeping the Justice Center open and in operation. This project was done in conjunction with DLR Group.
