Cultural facilities and libraries serve as anchors and hubs of our communities. As shining symbols of civic pride, they add to the vitality of the community as sources of enlightenment and engagement. In creating such facilities, we open our minds and arms to all stakeholders, leveraging their unique insights in the creation or re-creation of these important structures.

Riverdale Public Library

When Sweet Sparkman Architecture & Interiors (SSAI) was contracted to design the Riverdale Public Library, a modern yet belonging structural plan was immediately formulated for the remodel.

Asolo Repertory Theatre Koski Center Campus

Designing for performing arts.

When the Asolo Repertory Theatre purchased two buildings adjacent to their existing scenery production shop, they contracted Sweet Sparkman Architecture & Interiors to create a new theatrical rehearsal and production campus.

Englewood Library Remodel and Expansion

The civic anchor for the County campus.

The library is located at the center of a large County complex which includes a gymnasium, dance hall, tennis courts, and rollerblade skate rink.

RINGLING COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN ALFRED R. GOLDSTEIN LIBRARY

This new library is a vibrant venue for learning at the heart of Ringling’s expanding campus, an iconic form that embodies and supports the College’s creative community with spaces for activity as well as quiet pursuits.

This addition and renovation project converted approximately 18,000 SF of existing gallery space from temporary exhibition areas to permanent galleries.

WILLIAM H. JERVEY JR. VENICE PUBLIC LIBRARY

Something for everyone.

Accommodating adult, young adult and children programming, this new facility includes PC workstations and charging stations, a multi-purpose meeting room, a conference room, a makerspace, and group study and tutoring rooms.

SELBY LIBRARY IMPROVEMENTS

A breath of fresh air.

This $1.35M project included improvements to indoor air quality, finishes, and space planning, as well as design of a state-of-the-art Teen Center with a glass storefront, metal walls and exposed ceilings in a "cyber-punk" motif.

NORTH COUNTY LIBRARY

Lighting the way.

This 25,000 SF Gold LEED facility was designed with full-height glazed curtain wall systems that by day enable visitors to enjoy the view and by night make the facility glow internally, serving as a symbolic community beacon.
